Mysteriously mercurial and powerfully passionate interpretation of Scriabin's great "Black Mass" Sonata No. 9, Op. 68 at Bechstein Piano Center, New York, NY, March 31, 2011. From the soft chromatic beginning, Nataliya Medvedovskaya (aka Natasha Meadow) cajoles and seduces the listener with a clarity of motivic development, shifting textures, poly-rhythms, and alluring harmonic shapes, step by step into a brewing witchcraft of poisonous dread and fiery, cacophonous descent into Hell itself. The end is aggressive and at the same time terrifyingly beautiful. This complex and very demanding work of Scriabin is often described as more visionary and radical than that of many other composers before or after.

Chopin's Berceuse, Op. 57, played by pianist Nataliya Medvedovskaya (aka Natasha Meadow). Chopin composed the Berceuse ("Lullaby" in French) between 1843-1844 when he was enamored with a little baby being taken care of by his lover, George Sand. The simple ostinato bass in the left hand is repeated against 14 shifting variations in the right hand with delicate ornamentations of sparkling beauty until a return to the simple beginning and to sleep. Pianist and composer Nataliya Medvedovskaya plays the piece with a gentle, delicate touch and innocent, sweet tone that become a wonderful way to go off to sleep for a baby or any adult. Coming from neighboring countries of Poland and Russia, Chopin (born in Zelazowa Wola near Warsaw, Poland), and Medvedovskaya (graduate of the famous St. Petersburg Conservatory in St. Petersburg, Russia) seem to be magically in tune with each other in this lovely performance.

Russian American pianist and composer, Nataliya Medvedovskaya, plays the hauntingly beautiful and rhythmically challenging D minor Fantasia of Mozart with a depth of feeling and extraordinary insight she brings to all her work. A relatively late work of Mozart from 1782, it has the range and scope of a little symptony in 7 minutes with 7 different changes of tempo and variety of musical form.
